Life In Christ

“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” (Colossians 3:3-4)

Today’s Morsel: One of the reasons why we are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, is because we are putting on Christ. Paul said: “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:3-4) He told the Church at Galatia: “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” (Galatians 3:27) The reason we become born-again is to be in Christ and His body. We don’t just become Christians to check a box. It must become a lifestyle. Your life must now be hidden in Christ. When others see you or encounter you, they ought to see Christ and not you. If you have an evil attitude, complain about everything, lie, dress immodest, or yell and scream at your kids, spouse, or others, and call people names, they are not seeing Christ in you. Your life is not hidden in Christ, it’s still hidden in the devil. As John admonishes us: “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” (1 John 2:4-6) We are to be Jesus in the earth.

Sing: This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, this little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, this little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Thought For Today: “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.” (Colossians 3:12-13)
