Faithfulness
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:1-8)
Today’s Morsel: What will God find you doing when He returns? Will He find that you have been faithful in the things that He’s asked you to do? Will He find that you have increased in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of Him and who He is? Will He find that you have obeyed His Word and have shared it with others? Will your faith be a ten, or still a one? Will you have been faithful to church, daily devotions, and compassion? Will He find that you have taken up your cross daily and followed Him? Faithfulness is the concept of unfailingly remaining loyal to someone or something and putting that loyalty into consistent practice regardless of extenuating circumstances. Always remember, the root word for faithfulness is faith, and without it, shall no man see God.
Sing: He’s been faithful, faithful to me; looking back, His love and mercy I see. In my heart, I have questioned, and even fail to believe, yet He’s been faithful, faithful to me.
