Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 3 July 2020

Trust

And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.(1 Chronicles 28:9)

Today’s Morsel:  You know there are many things that we put our trust in for use to make it through this life.  We trust the electric company to provide us with electricity for our homes and business. We trust that our city will provide us with clean and safe water to drink.  We trust our banks to secure and keep our money.  We trust our vehicle's GPS to get us to the right location.  We trust airplanes to get off the ground and take us to our destination and our luggage to make it there as well.  We trust the doctor to give us the right diagnosis and trust our pastor to teach us and lead us in the right way.  But when it comes to God, some folks have an extremely hard time trusting Him because they say they cannot see Him.  Yet these same people do not realize that they cannot see the electricity flowing through the line, nor understand how the GPS works. You see they fail to realize that none of these things would work and be developed without God.  Therefore, Solomon admonishes us, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.(Proverbs 3:5-6).  It is better to trust in the Lord than to put your confidence in man.

Sing:  I trust in God, wherever I may be, upon the land or on the rolling sea.  For come what may, from day to day, my heavenly Father watches over, over, me.
And I trust in God, I know He cares for me, upon the land or on the raging sea.  For come what may, from day to day, my heavenly Father watches over, over, me.

Thought For Today:  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
