Peace
“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your
moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are
just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever
things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received,
and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.” (Philippians 4:4-9)
Today’s Morsel: I keep trying
to get an understanding as to why there are so many Christians without peace in
their lives. I keep wondering why there are many whose lives are full of
affliction, torment, stress, distress, despair, hopelessness, and without any
cheer. What is happening to them? Have they not read the scriptures
that inform them that Jesus is the Prince of Peace? Do they not
understand that Christ is in them? Do they not understand that they must
remain and walk in the Spirit to have peace? Are they not aware that if
they take counsel from the ungodly it will wreck their peace? If you want
to maintain peace in your life, then you must become a doer of God’s word and
not just a hearer of it. Jesus is the Prince of Peace.
Sing: I may have doubts and fear, my
eyes be filled with tears, but Jesus is a friend who watches day and
night. I go to Him in prayer, He knows my every care, and just a little
talk with Jesus makes it right.
Now let us have a little talk with Jesus, tell Him about our
troubles. He will hear our faintest cry, and He’ll answer by and
by. When you feel a little prayer wheel turning, you’ll know a little
fire is burning. You’ll find a little talk with Jesus makes it right.
Thought For Today: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government
shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
