Saw Dust or A Beam
“Judge not, that ye
be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with
what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou
the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in
thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote
out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite,
first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly
to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.” (Matthew 7:1-5)
Today’s Morsel: How do you
deal with dislikes in another person's life? Do you judge them, or do you
look within to ensure that those same dislikes are not being seen by others in
you? What I often find is that often times those things we dislike in
others may be God’s way of showing us what He dislikes in our lives. When
Nathan told David the story of the traveler and the man who took the poor man’s
sheep to use instead of using one of his own, David went into the immediate
judgment of the man. But when Nathan told him, "David you are the
man," David wanted to immediately withdraw his judgment. It is easy
to judge others for their wrong. But are we pure when we do? Always
remember, before you cast the stone of judgment at another person, make sure
that there is not some bigger wrong in your own life.
Sing: I want to live the way that He
wants me to live. I want to give until there’s just no more to
give. I want to love, love till there’s just no more love. I could
never, never out love the Lord.
Thought For Today: Judge not lest
ye be judged!
