More
Than A Conquerors
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is
written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep
for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through
him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35-39)
Today’s Morsel:
One of the
things about the Christian life in Christ is we can do more than we think. Even
Jesus said that if we have faith the size of a grain of mustard seed we can say
to the mountain to move and it would move. Writing to the church at
Ephesus, Paul states, “Now unto him
that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us” (Ephesians 3:20) But how do we become more than conquerors? A good
example is when David smote Goliath with the stone and he fell to the ground on
his face, he had conquered him. But when he stood on him and took his
sword, cut off his head and took his armor, he became more than a
conqueror. And when he stood up on Goliath, it was a symbol of putting
your enemy under your feet. (See Joshua 10:25). Paul said that we are
more than conquerors through Him (Jesus) that loved us. We are more than conquerors, not only over sin and Satan, but the
world, the reproaches, afflictions, persecutions, and anything else that may come
against us.
Sing: Victory in Jesus, my Savior
forever. He sought me, and He brought me with His redeeming blood.
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him. He plunged me to
victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.
Thought For Today: We are more than
conquerors in Christ.
