Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 27 March 2020

Kindness

O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.(Psalms 117:1-2)

Today’s Morsel:  Kindness is one of those traits that came with the Holy Ghost.  It is listed as one of the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).  It is an attribute of Christ.  Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see.  Psalms 117 is the shortest psalm of the 150 Psalms written in the book of the Psalms, and it calls for us all to praise God for his merciful kindness.  When we think of God’s kindness, we think of His compassion, benevolence, thoughtfulness, and gentleness.  Jeremiah realized God's kindness when he wrote that God’s compassion fails not, it is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22). Paul, wanting the church at Ephesus to know of God's kindness, informed them, “ And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:1-8)  If you want to speak God's language, then learn to be kind to others.

Sing:  Thy lovingkindness is better than life.  Thy lovingkindness is better than life.  My lips shall praise Thee, thus will I bless Thee.  I will lift up my hands unto thy name.

Thought For Today:  Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
