2015 September 30 - Morning Manna

"By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God" (Hebrews 11:8-10).

Today's Morsel:  When Abraham was called of God, he went out looking for that heavenly city.  By all accounts, Abraham dedicated himself to the things and service of God.  He is called a friend of God.  When God called him, he departed.  When God calls us, we must not be double-minded but must become as our father Abraham, and start looking for that heavenly city whose Builder and Maker is God.  Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us (John 14:1-4).  Like the people at Babel, we must begin building, not with brick, but upon our lives in righteousness.  We can find that city, when we are diligent in seeking for Him with our whole heart.

Sing:  I'm going to a city there'll be no more night. I'm going to a city where Jesus is the light. The trumpet's gonna sound, and I'll be called away, I'm going to a city someday.

Thought for Today:  Endurance is one of our greatest survival skills.
