This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:1-7)
Today's Morsel: One of the big things people are doing these days are taking selfies. They hold the camera on their phones up and take pictures of themselves. This could very well be an example of the love for one's own-self that Paul spoke of. Every day that passes, I believe we are drawing closer to the soon coming of the Lord. Paul said that in the last days, men would be lovers of themselves. Not only are people lovers of themselves, but everything else that Paul spoke of is upon us today. Therefore, we must prepare ourselves for the soon coming of the Lord. I believe that our Redeemer will soon drawing nigh. What are you doing to be ready? Are you clinging to that Old Rugged Cross? Are you pulling others out of the fire? Are you fulfilling the Great Commission? Now is not the time to sit back and take a chill pill. Now is the time to let your light shine brighter than you ever did before.
Sing: I'm gonna be ready, ready when Jesus comes. I'm gonna be ready, ready when He calls my name. In the morning, in the evening, or at noon; I'm gonna be ready, ready, when Jesus comes.
Thought for Today: Sodom and Gomorrah were taken by total surprise.
