"He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform" (Romans 4:20-21)
Today's Morsel: I often wonder why alcohol makes people stagger when they are drunk. This stuff really messes up a person's equilibrium and the world hasn't figured that out yet. They want to ban and bar everything but alcohol. Even on the Day of Pentecost, they accused the apostles and the others in the upper room of being drunk. I think they may have been staggering all over the place. I have seen many Christians drunk on the Holy Ghost. This is the best high you can have because there are no hangovers, and the cops can't arrest you for driving drunk. Paul said that Abraham did not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in the faith giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Notice, unbelief makes you stagger. It causes you to sway back and forth in your faith. It causes you to be double minded and unstable in all your ways. People who can't make up their minds whether they want to serve God are not usually suffer from the spirit of unbelief and find themselves staggering. But those who take God at His word and walk by faith, have very good balance.
Sing: Standing on the promises of Christ my King, through eternal ages let His praises ring. Glory in the highest I will shout and sing, standing on the promises of God.
Standing! Standing! Standing on the promises of Christ my Savior. Standing! Standing! I'm standing on the promises of God.
Thought for Today: Be not drunk with wine wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit.
