2012 August 22 - Morning Manna

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (1 Timothy 2:1-5)
Today's Morsel: As the boat was sinking, the skipper lifted his voice to ask: "Does anybody know how to pray?" One man spoke confidently in answer: "Yes, Captain, I do." The captain nodded. "That's all right then," he declared. "You go ahead and pray. The rest of us will put on life-belts. We're one short." Nothing like a little humor.
Prayer is essential to our livelihood. I have come to realize that more things are done through prayer than we could ever do physically. God still answers prayer according to His perfect will. We are just told to take our petitions to God and let Him work it the work the He desires, as He always knows what's best for us. From the time that man begins to call upon the Lord, He hears. Prayer has always been a part of man's life. Someone said, "As long as there are tests in school, there will be prayer in school even though the government has outlawed it!" And I will say, where sin doth abound, not only will Grace much more abound, but there will be a need for prayer. Paul told Timothy, "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." If we all pray for God to give us leaders according to His heart, and ones that will lead according to His Word, we may just find some peace and tranquility in the world.
Sing: You pray for me, I'll pray for you, we are all a part of God's family. I won't hurt you, with words of my mouth, I love you, and I need you to survive.
