Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2025 February 7

Trust

“My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:1-6)

Today’s Morsel: How many times have you heard someone say, “I don’t trust him.” Or “I don’t trust her.” Or “I don’t trust them.”  One of the things that I have discovered is that most people, and even children, if they have been let down or abused, they will have a lot of trouble with trust. Solomon even tells us, “A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.” (Proverbs 18:19) In other words, when a person is wronged, it is almost impossible for reconciliation between the one offended and the offender. Trust is built through consistency and love. When we tell someone that we are going to do something, we must have strong follow-through each time. And if there is a reason that we cannot do what we say, we ought to immediately contact the person so they know that we cannot meet the obligation. Jesus has never let us down. Therefore, it ought to be easy for us to trust in Him. The enemy of your soul will try to get you to think that Jesus has let you down, but in the end, you will find that He did not. God is faithful. He cannot deny who He is. So put your trust in Him. He won’t leave you nor forsake you. And He will never fail you.

Sing: I trust in God, wherever I may be, upon the land, or on the roaring seas. For come what may, from day to day, my Heavenly Father, watches over, over me.

And I trust in God, I know He cares for me, upon the mountain bleak, or out on the raging seas. For come what may, from day to day, my Heavenly Father watches over, over, me.

Thought For Today: “In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.” (Psalms 56:11)
