Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2025 February 26

Strength

“And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted. Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.” (Isaiah 12:1-6)

Today’s Morsel: Sometimes I have folks ask me to pray for them to maintain and have strength. Is this a topic that should be taught to saints how to maintain strength in their daily lives? We have seen men and woman wearing T-shirts stating, “God’s Gym.” I guess they are saying they are working out with God.  When Nehemiah had completed construction of the wall in Jerusalem, he told the people: “Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10) Notice, the joy of the Lord is your strength. Through your rejoicing and gladness, you obtain and retain strength. Paul told the church at Philippi: “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.” (Philippians 4:4) David states: “My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:” (Psalms 63:5) “Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.” (Psalms 63:7) “But the king shall rejoice in God...” (Psalms 63:11) Are you feeling as though you don’t have any strength? Isaiah said, Jehovah is my strength. Like Paul, with God in my life, when I am weak, then am I strong. Your strength, like your help, is in you. So, stir it up and get moving.

Sing: He gives strength to me, as I worship Him, as my heart is filled with praise. Jesus breaks the bands, when I raise my hands, He gives glorious victory.

Thought For Today: “God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.” (2 Samuel 22:33)
