Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2025 February 5

Abounding In Love

“Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.” (1 Thessalonians 3:11-13)

Today’s Morsel: I’ve been watching this commercial by sports players and coaches calling for a time out. And their reason is, they say, is that hate is winning. They are calling for everyone to take a time out on hate. We can’t allow hate to win. And Jesus doesn’t expect us to let it win either.  We must change out game plans and strategy to end hate. The apostle Paul gives us the answer as to h0w to combat hate. And that is to let our love abound. Our love must excel, increase, and become so much better than hate or everything else. Our love ought to be overflowing in each of our lives so that it will crush hate, and cause others to see Christ in us the hope of glory.  Do you need to call a time out on hate?

Sing: I want to live above the world, though Satan’s darts at me are hurled; For faith has caught the joyful sound, The sound of saints on higher ground. Lord, lift me up, and let me stand, by faith on heaven’s table land, A higher plane than I have found. Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

Thought For Today: “And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:” (1 Thessalonians 3:12)
