Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2025 February 25

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 14:12)

Today’s Morsel: How many times have you heard someone say, “No one is going to tell me what to do.” “I’m grown and I will do what I want to do?” Do you know that many of those people who made such comments and did things the way that they wanted to do them are in prison, dead, pregnant out of wedlock, or suffering some other fate because of their refusal to heed advice or godly counsel. Sure, you can do things your own way, but the Bible informs us that in the multitude of counselors there is safety (Proverbs 24:6) And that wisdom is too high for a fool (Proverbs 24:7). There isn’t anything wrong with doing it your way. Even General George Patton said,” Don’t tell someone how to do something. Tell them what needs to be done and let them surprise you with their ingenuity.” Yes, you can do it your way. But the best plans are those which have God’s backing and advice; and no one has to even know that He told you how to do it.

Sing: And now, the end is near, and so I face the final curtain, my friend, I'll say it clear, I'll state my case, of which I'm certain. I've lived a life that's full, I traveled each and every highway; and more, much more than this, I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention; I did what I had to do, and saw it through without exemption, I planned, each charted course, each careful step along the byway; and more, much more than this, I did it my way.

Thought For Today: Every decision has consequences that are either good or evil.
