The Sacrifice of
Praise
“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God
continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to
do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well
pleased.”
(Hebrews 13:15-16)
Today’s Morsel: When you go to
church, what do you go for? Do you go to worship and praise God? Every
time we go to church, we should go to give God praise. Psalms 100 tells
us, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and
into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name.” (Psalms 100:4) and
Psalms 113 tells us, “Praise ye the
LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Blessed
be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising
of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be
praised.”
(Psalms 113:1-3) Our sacrifices should be the best that
we can offer. Our day should begin with praise to God and it should end
with the same. When we realize how good God has been to us, in things
that we can and cannot see, we should praise and give Him thanks. As Paul
admonishes us, “Rejoice evermore. Pray without
ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
concerning you.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) Real praise should
always come from a heart of thanksgiving.
Sing: Praise Him, Praise Him, praise
Him in the morning, praise Him in the noon time. Praise Him, praise Him,
praise Him when the sun goes down.
Thought For Today: Real praise should
always come from a heart of thanksgiving.
