The Deployment Center
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel
to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he
that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that
believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new
tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it
shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (Mark 16:15-18)
Today’s Morsel: When I
enlisted the military, anytime we were going overseas, we had to report to the ‘Deployment
Center’ to receive instructions, make sure all our personal affairs were in
order, and that our equipment was ready for deployment. They wanted us to
understand where we were going (unless it was secret), and to ensure we had
everything that we needed and everything at home was in order. When Jesus
appeared unto His disciples, it was somewhat like a Deployment Center.
Once He had checked them out and explained to them their mission, He sent them
forth. The church must be a Deployment Center. You do not bring
people into the Deployment Center to keep them there. You bring them
there to ensure they are trained and ready to go. If people are not
involved in the kingdom, the church is not doing its job of training and
sending them forth. Are your records and equipment up to date? We
will be deploying soon.
Sing: Well, I’m getting ready to leave
this place, I’m getting ready for those gates of pearls. Keeping my
record right, watching both day and night, I’m getting ready to leave this
place.
Thought For Today: Let’s be ready
to deploy.
