And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go. And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword. And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens. And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens. (Exodus 5:1-5)
Today's Morsel: Someone said that there are no atheists in the foxholes. This is because when a man fears for his life, he seems to find the strength to call on God in prayer. By all accounts, Pharaoh was an atheist. He didn't believe in the God of Israel. And no matter how much Moses and Aaron tried to convince him, he wasn't persuaded. Like Agrippa told Paul, "Thou almost persuaded me to be a Christian." Like some folks today who say that they do not believe in God, sooner or later God has a way of causing them to believe in Him. So just let God have His way. The next time someone is persecuting you for your faith because they don't believe, and they say that they are an atheist, just pray for them and plead the blood of Jesus upon them. Then stand back and see the salvation of God.
Sing: There is power in the name of Jesus; There is power in the name of Jesus; There is power in the name of Jesus; to break every chain, break every chain, break every chain.
Thought for Today: When Satan has a grip on a person's life, he doesn't let go easy.
