Beware of The Deceivers and The Antichrist
“And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.” (2 John 1:6-7)
Today’s Morsel: For the forty years that I have been born again, I have heard about the coming of the antichrist. But I have realized that we maybe we waiting for something that is already here. When Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall, scripture says, “And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease.” (Nehemiah 4:11) John informs us that many deceivers are entered into the world who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. This may be why we see so many churches going the way of the world, and why there is a great falling away from truth. When people deny the gospel, they are denying the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, baptism in Jesus’ name, and holy living separated from this world, and that Jesus Christ was God manifest in flesh, they are a deceiver and an antichrist, because they are teaching and have been taught contrary to the Word of God. Notice what the adversaries of Nehemiah said. “They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease.” The deceivers and antichrists will come in and folks won’t even know it. Churches are crying out, “Just come as you are.” Believe me, I have seen many deceivers and antichrists in the church in my lifetime. I have seen many young men and women led astray by deceivers. And now their lives are turned upside down. All because the overseers allow the adversary to come in and deceive. Once your adversary can teach others the wrong way, he knows the likelihood of them changing to truth simply won’t happen. Therefore, you need to read your Bible for yourself, and pray to God for an understanding, or you will be deceived and not even know it.
Sing: Jesus hold my hand, Lord, I need Thee every hour. Through this pilgrim land, protect me by Thy saving Power. Hear my feeble plea, oh Lord, look down on me. When I kneel in pray, Lord I hope to meet You there; blessed Jesus hold my hand.
Thought For Today: “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.” (1 John 2:18)
