Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2 January 2019

Spiritual Abundance

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6:38).

Today’s Morsel:  Often we hear in the political realm that one party is called liberals because they seem to want to give away everything for free.  We should not suppose that by giving liberally we will be impoverished and reduced to want.  But rather, we should confide in God who is able to furnish us abundantly with what is needful for our necessities.  God can impart to us those things which are needful for our welfare.  If we give liberally, according to His will, we can expect that God will furnish us with the means, so that we will be able to abound more and more.  Paul states in Acts 20:35, “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive”.  Therefore, we who give should have faith in God who can supply all our needs according to His riches and glory by Christ Jesus.

Sing:  You, can’t beat God’s giving, no matter how you try.  For just as sure, as you are giving, the Lord is a giver on high.  The more you give, the more He’ll give to you; so, keep on giving because His word is true.  You can’t beat God’s giving, no matter how you try.

Thought For Today:  There are no limits in His storehouse (Parker)
