Don’t Change Who You Are Because Other’s Don’t Believe
“For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” (Romans 3:3-4)
Today’s Morsel: Some folks who try to please others will change who they are trying to fit in so that others may change who they are. Some folks have tried to use Paul’s quote: “To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” (1 Corinthians 9:22) I believe what Paul is saying here is that he is willing to go anywhere and any place to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and even to every kindred nation and tongue, so that others may be saved. But he’s not going to change who he is to do it. He told the Romans: For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar. First, let me say, none of us can save anyone. Only God can do that. But if we change who we are to be like someone else, then who does that someone else have to look to for a godly example, separation, holy living, and godly character? Be who Jesus called you to be, letting your life be an example for Him.
Sing: I’ve got Jesus on the inside, He’s working on the outside, Oh what a change in my life. I’ve got Jesus on the inside, He’s working on the outside, Oh what a change in my life. I’ve got Jesus on the inside, He’s working on the outside, Oh what a change in my life, Oh what a change in my life.
Thought For Today: “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)
