Let Me Pray About It

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” (Colossians 3:17)

Today’s Morsel: Have you ever had one of those moments when you asked someone on your team to fill a needed position in the church and they say to you, “Let me pray about.” Why do we think that we need to pray about everything that someone asks us to do? Shouldn’t we possess the wisdom, knowledge, discretion, and understanding of God to make wise and timely decisions. Should not these things cause us to already see the need? God has already given to us His authority and power to work on His behalf when He filled us with the Holy Ghost. So, what is there to pray about? Paul admonishes us: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24) Come on, stop using prayer for something that you don’t want to do. Do it. You may find that that was the very place that you found your joy and hone your skillset.

Sing: Jesus use me, O’ Lord don’t refuse me, for surely there’s a work that I can do. And even though it’s humble, Lord, help my will to crumble, though the cost be great I’ll work for You.

Thought For Today“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)
