 Is My Heart Okay

“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.” (Proverbs 28:26)

Today’s Morsel: We hear a lot about people today with heart issues. And now when most people go to the doctor for chest pains, they are thinking that something is wrong with their heart. So, they become concerned if their heart is okay. But when it comes to scripture, Jesus isn’t concerned with that piece of flesh in your chest. He’s concerned with the way we think and conduct ourselves because out of our hearts proceed the issues of life. Isaiah says that God will keep us in perfect peace if our mind is stayed on Him: because we trust in Him. (My wording) (Isaiah 26:3). Daily we must examine our hearts to ensure that we are not trusting in things that can lead us astray and cause us real heart problems. Like lust, pride, evil communications, and sin.  Always know that if our heart fails us, God is greater than our heart and can restore us to the newness of life if we come to Him.

Sing: The windows of heaven are open, God's power is falling tonight, there’s joy, joy, joy in my heart since Jesus made everything right.  I gave Him my old, tattered garments, He gave me a robe of pure white, I’m feasting on manna from heaven, and that’s why I’m happy tonight.

Thought For Today“Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.” (Proverbs 26:23)

 How Do You Unplug?

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.(2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1)

Today’s Morsel: Sometimes I hear people saying that it is hard to let go of their old friends. You don’t have to let them go, you just need to unplug from the evils and the wrongs that they may be doing that will ruin your Christian witness. Always remember, it’s the sick that need the physician, not the well. Your old friends need to see Jesus in you and desire Him for themselves. And that requires you to unplug from all appearance of evil and wrongdoing. Remember, Jesus is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth (1 John 1:6). Sometimes to unplug may be hard, but you must have the intestinal fortitude to pull the plug if you are going live.

Sing: He is my everything, He is my all, He is my everything, both great and small. He gave His life for me, made everything new.  He is my everything, oh, how about you?

Thought For Today: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you and will be a father unto you.

 The Outcome

“I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:16-20)

Today’s Morsel: I have had people ask me if I have read a certain book or seen a certain movie. When I tell them that I have not, they will proceed to tell me the story and the outcome. It's as if to say, you don’t need to, I’m going to tell you, so you don’t waste your money. But what if I wanted to read it or see it? Now you’ve spoiled it for me. Most Christians have read the Bible at least once, and they know the outcome and they want to share the story with others. And then there are those who have read it, and who do not care to share it, as they want you to read it for yourself. John tells us that we must not add to nor take away from the words of this book. It is important for each of us to share the gospel with others, but it is also important for everyone to read the Bible for themselves.  It is important that each person read the Bible for themselves and allow the spirit to lead and guide them into all truth, as the Lord did the Eunuch in the desert in Act 8.  Once he began to read and study, the spirit led Phillip to him to give him an understanding of truth. Phillip didn’t add to, nor take away, but gave a clear explanation, which led to salvation. If we know the outcome, let’s wait for God to direct us to those who may be seeking Him for the answer.

Sing: He leadeth me! He leadeth me! By His own hand He leadeth me.  His faithful follower I will be, for by His hand he leadeth me.

Thought For Today: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)

 Torn Between Two Mortgages

“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” (2 Corinthians 5:1)

Today’s Morsel: I am afraid that some folks are wasting their money on two mortgages here on earth. Jesus said: “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21) People won’t tithe or give offerings because they say that they must make their mortgage payments. But what are they doing about the home that they hope to someday occupy in heaven? Which house is more important to you? This earthly temple or your heavenly temple? You can’t rob God and expect Him to make your mortgage payments for you. Not here on earth nor even in heaven.  We must get our priorities straight.  We must lay up our treasures where we hope to live for eternity.

Sing: There’s a dream, that I dream, of my heavenly, heavenly home; And I know, that I am going there someday, oh yes; In the morning, night or noon, I don’t know, just how soon, that’s why I’m sending, up my timber, every, every, every day.

Thought For Today: Which house is more important to you?

 To The Rescue

“And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land. And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.” (Mark 6:47-52)

Today’s Morsel: I often wonder about these disciples of Jesus. They were supposed to be expert fishermen, but it seems as though they had never had their boats in the middle of the sea when a major storm arose. But Jesus places them in the middle of the sea, during His training of them, to teach them about having faith in Him and themselves. For our faith to grow, we must learn to trust Jesus no matter where we might find ourselves. We must learn to walk by faith and not by sight. Scripture says that Jesus observed them from the shore until about the 4th watch, and then He went to them walking on the water and got into the ships with them. Jesus won’t leave you nor forsake you. Let me encourage you to see the next trial that you are in as a training session and see what lesson you can learn that may be helpful for the mission that Jesus may send you on.

Sing: I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore.  Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more; but the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry, from the waters lifted me, now safe am I.

Love lifted me, love lifted me, when nothing else could help, love lifted me. Love lifted me, love lifted me, when nothing else could help, love lifted me.

Thought For Today: When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour(Isaiah 43:2-3)

Your Tears Might Not Be Working Like They Use To

Jesus wept. (John 11:35)

Today’s Morsel: Throughout scripture the writers often mention Jesus weeping and crying. He was often moved with compassion for the lost and those who were suffering because of the wrong done to them. Yet today, I am afraid that folks’ tears are no longer working like they use to. I attend funerals, and few if any tears are seen. I see people praying with people, and few if any tears are seen. I see our nation on its way to hell, and few if any tears are seen being poured out for her. I see young kids being murdered, raped, and abused by drug dealer, pedophiles, and parents, and we see few if any tears falling from faces, few seeking God for help. We see divorce, abuse, injustice, and yet few or no tears. Why are folks' tears not working as they once did? Jesus said it is because of the hardness of hearts. Paul said it is: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.(Romans 1:21-23) Are your tears working the way that they use to work?

Sing: Hear my cry Oh God, attend unto my prayer, from the ends of the earth will I cry unto Thee.  And when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I, so much higher than I.

Thought For Today: “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” (Psalms 126:5)

  52 Ways To Walk

“Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:14-16)

Today’s Morsel: There is a book entitled, ‘52 Ways to Walk’ by Annabel Streets. It’s about the surprising science of walking, wellness, and joy, one week at a time. Paul states that we should walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. We must walk cautiously, and carefully, being alert to our surroundings. Life today is as though we are walking through a minefield. Therefore, we must be careful. Paul again admonished us:And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.(Romans 13:11-14) Walk honestly. Let our deportment be decent, orderly, and grave; such as we shall not be ashamed of in the eyes of the whole world. And we must “walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.” (Colossians 4:5) Walk in wisdom - that is, conduct uprightly and honestly. Deal with them on the strictest principles of integrity, so that they may not have occasion to reproach the religion which you profess. Don’t just walk 52 times, walk daily with Jesus for your joy and wellness.

Sing: Let me walk with You Jesus, don’t ever leave me alone. For without You I could never, no, never make heaven my home.

Thought For Today: “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.” (1 John 1:6)

 Step Into History

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1-14)

Today’s Morsel: I don’t know about you, but I love history. History was one of my favorite subjects in school. I probably should have been a history teacher. Hey, wait a minute. I am a history teacher, and so are you if you have been born again. Aren’t we all supposed to relate the history lessons of Jesus Christ and His church? Aren’t we supposed to tell the story of His life, death, burial, and resurrection? Isn’t the Bible a history book? If you want to read a fascinating and life-changing history book, read the Bible and it will change your life and give you great insight into things past, present, and future. If you destroy the foundation of the church and its history, you can destroy its people.  Keep the foundation sure, become a history teacher, and tell the stories found in the word of God.

Sing: Let me walk in the light in the great gospel light, let me walk in the gospel light.  Till my journey is over and I travel no more, let me walk in the gospel like.

Thought For Today: If you destroy the foundation of the church and its history, you can destroy its people.

 The Cruise Liner

And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band. And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us. And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself. And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary. And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia. And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein. And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone; And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea. Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them, And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul. And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west. And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete. But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. (Acts 27:1-15)

Today’s Morsel: Have you ever taken a cruise at sea? What about a cruise through the pages of the Bible? Can you imagine and picture yourself on some of Paul’s missionary journeys aboard a ship? How would you like to have been with him on this cruise heading to Rome? 276 people on board in the middle of a major storm, in darkness for 14 days straight, nothing to eat, fear on every side, and having to get rid of your cargo? What a cruise. How do you think you would have responded? You see, this is what reading the Bible is all about. You must put yourself in the story and its pages to get a real feel of the truth of the gospel and what it really means to be committed to Christ to preach the gospel to the whole world. If you just read to say that you read the Bible through during the year, you will miss the journey. You must feel what they felt for it to impact you. I would like to hear what cruise in the Bible you are taking next.

Sing: Well, I’m gonna take a trip on that good old gospel ship and go sailing beyond the blue.  I'm gonna shout and sing until the heavens ring when I bid this world goodbye.

Thought For Today: Sail on.

Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 20 October 2022

 Guess Who?

And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor. The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds: But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter. And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him. And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die: And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity. And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.
(2 Samuel 12:1-8)

Today’s Morsel: One of the things that scripture tells us is that we should be quick to hear and slow to speak. When God sent Nathan to David to reveal his sin to him, David immediately assumed that the prophet was speaking of someone else and not him. And so, as King, he was ready to exercise vengeance. But Nathan tells him guess who I am talking about? You are the man. Somewhat like when king Ahasuerus answered and said to Esther the queen, who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so? And Esther said, the adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen. (Esther 7:5-6) Here Haman was thinking that he was going to be honored, probably with a great smile on his face that he’s been invited to the banquet with the queen, only to find out that his wickedness was being revealed and it would cost him his life.  Scripture says that we all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of the things done in this life whether good or bad. So, guess who is going to have to give an account for you? Not your pastor. Not your parents. Not your coworkers. Not your teacher. Guess who? It is going to be you.

Sing: We shall see the King, we shall see the King, we shall see the King when He comes. He’s coming in His power, we’ll hail the blessed hour, we shall see the King when He comes.

Thought For Today: Accountability for eternal salvation begins with you.

 Know Your Dealer

And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

  (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13)

Today’s Morsel: After I take my car in for repair or an oil change, I receive an email with a survey wanting to know if I was pleased with the dealer and the service that I received from them. I often wonder how I would rate a church service if I received a survey for the service I received at a church.  How well do you know the people you worship with?  How well do you know the people you work with? If someone asked you to rate each one, would you be able to give them an honest assessment? What about in the church? Do you select people to fill a position because someone else tells you to vote for them, do you know them? Do you vote for them without considering their character? Paul said that we must know them which labor among us, and that are over us in the Lord. Don’t ever forget that Judas was on Jesus' leadership team, and he betrayed Him. Demas was on Paul’s team, and he left him. And some scholars believe that the Nicolaitans doctrine that Jesus mentions that he hated to the church at Pergamos, in Revelation 2:12-17, was a compromising doctrine by Nicolas, a proselyte of Antioch, Acts 6:5. As Paul stated: “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” (2 Corinthians 11:14-15) We must know them that labor among us.

Sing: Hold to God’s unchanging hand, hold to God’s unchanging hand, build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God’s unchanging hand.

Thought For Today: Remain true to your calling.

On The Go

Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek: Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium. Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek. And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem. And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily. Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia, After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not. And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them. Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis; And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.
(Acts 16:1-12)

Today’s Morsel: A few weeks ago, my wife and I were heading out of town to go minister in another city and we noticed that traffic coming into and exiting our city was more than what we usually would see during that time of day. We looked at each other and said, Where are all these folks going? People just seem to be on the go. Airports, busses, and train depots are full of folks on the go. Where is everyone going? They are rushing here and there, going to and fro, and if you were to ask folks where they are going, many have no clue.  Satan seems to have everyone on the move trying to wear them out. He's causing them to be discontented, unhappy, worn, and stressed. Jesus said that we should come apart and rest awhile. If you keep going and going, sooner or later you are going to wear yourself out and not be any good or useful to the Kingdom.  Paul was a man on the go, but he knew where he was going, and what his mission was. Paul was led by the Spirit. There are two things that are needed in ministry that cannot be learned. They are anointing and Spiritual sensitivity.  Be careful that in your daily life you are not just rushing and going.  Take time to be led by the Spirit.  Take time to rest and be in Jesus' presence.

Sing Where He leads me, I will follow, where He leads me, I will follow; Where He leads me, I will follow, I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way.

Thought For Today: Slow down. Rome wasn't built in a day!

Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 17 October 2022

 Recruiting Starts At The Top

And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
(Matthew 9:9-13)

Today’s Morsel: Soul winning and teaching truth must begin with the main leaders of the church. Leaders in the church who are not soul winners are just position seekers. Jesus modeled everything that we should do as leaders. He even stated that He did not come to be ministered to, but to minister and give His life for a ransom for many. He showed us that recruitment begins at the top. Jesus was a servant leader. Servant leaders always put the mission and others before themselves.  He modeled everything that we ought to be, know, and do. And that included soul winning. Are you a soul winner?

Sing: To be like Jesus! To be like Jesus! On earth I long to be like Him. All through life’s journey, from earth to glory, I only ask to be like Him.

Thought For Today:  The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30)

 For A Limited Time Only

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” (Hebrews 11:7)

Today’s Morsel: Noah was warned by God that He was going to destroy the earth and that He should build an ark. Scripture states that Noah was moved with fear and prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. We too have been told in scripture that someday Jesus will return for His church without spot and blameless. We are only here for a limited time. Moses states: “For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” (Psalms 90:9-12) You only have this life for a limited time, so what are you doing to get ready for Christ’s soon return for you?

Sing:  I’m getting ready to leave this place, I’m getting ready for those gates of pearls.  Keeping my record right, watching both day and night.  I’m getting ready to leave this place.

Thought For Today: “But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” (Matthew 24:43-44)

A Lifetime Warranty

“LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.”  (Psalms 15:1-5)

Today’s Morsel: Rarely, are we able to buy things anymore that have a lifetime warranty. But there are some things that you buy, if you read the small print, that do offer you a lifetime warranty on the product if it is maintained according to the outlined standards and you have the receipt. (Hint, keep a file with receipts of the things you buy. Write on top of the receipt the item you purchased so that it will be easy for you to locate the receipt, and you may be able to get a new item. That info was free of charge!)

Paul told Timothy: Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; conti!ue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.(1 Timothy 4:16) In other words, this doctrine of Jesus Christ, came with a lifetime warranty. Not only will it save you, but it will also save everyone that hears it from you.  Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. Eternal life is only in Christ. If you give Him your life, and you follow the standards that He has outlined for you, you will someday be able to trade this life in for an eternal one.

Sing: I found a new way of living; I found a new life divine.  I have the fruit of the Spirit, I am abiding, abiding, in the vine. Abiding in the vine, abiding in the vine, love, joy, health, strength, He has made them mine,  I have prosperity, power, and victory, I am abiding, abiding, in the vine.

Thought For Today: “But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 3:14-15)

  News To Improve Your Life

“And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.” (Luke 2:6-20)

Today’s Morsel: The story of the life of Jesus Christ is the good news that we all need to improve our lives. If we never apply the gospel to ourselves, we cannot have a changed life. Paul taught that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17). Once you have the knowledge of Christ, have repented of your sins, and been baptized in His name, you are now commanded to walk in the newness of life (Romans 6).  Don’t expect your life to improve without Christ. As Jesus said, without me, you can do nothing (John 15:5). But in Him, we live, move, and have our being. This gospel will improve your life if you accept it. Consider the stories of Ruth, Esther, Mary Magdalen, Mary the mother of Jesus, the apostles that were chosen by Jesus, The Woman at the well, Abraham, Noah, and Moses. All life-changing stories for the better, and they were all written for our learning. These stories are to show you how God can improve your life for the better just as He did theirs if you will let Him. If you feel that life is mundane and boring, try Jesus and let Him improve it for you.

Sing: Something beautiful, something good, all my confusion, Jesus understood.  All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife, but He made something beautiful out of my life.

Thought For Today: “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.” (Ezekiel 11:19-20)

 The Best Solution

And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there. For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us. Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life. And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it. Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household.(2 Kings 7:3-9)

Today’s Morsel: One of the things about problem-solving is that you must develop some solutions that may help you with solving whatever problem you may be having. And once you develop those possible solutions, then you must pick the best one that you think will help you solve your problem and then put it into action. The four lepers were in a dire strait. Sit there and die or go to the Syrians. They identified the best possible solution to fix their problem. Go to the Syrians. And as soon as they put their solution into action, God moved on their behalf to help them, not only solve their own problem but to solve the problem of others that were inside the camp. If these lepers had not put their solution to the problem into action, others may have died as well. We never know how the things we do to solve our problems may someday help others solve theirs. What problem are you facing today? Do you feel as though you have run out of solutions, and nothing is working? Well, let me share with you another solution, go to Jesus, and ask Him for His help in finding the right solution to your problem and you will see that all things will work out just fine. As they say, when all else fails, try Jesus!

Sing: I came to Jesus weary, worn, and sad; He took my sin away, He took my sin away.  And now on Him, I roll my every care, He took my sins away.

We Are Trying To Make A Difference

“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.”

 (Jude 1:20-23)

Today’s Morsel: The story is told of a little boy walking along the ocean throwing starfish back into the water that had washed ashore. A man saw him and asked him what he was doing. The lad explained that he was throwing the starfish back into the ocean so they could live. The man said, there are too many of them here for you to make a difference. As the young lad threw one into the ocean he said, “I just made a difference for that one.”

When you listen to someone share their hurts and pain in the Walmart line, at church, or on the job, others may think that you are wasting your time, but you really could be making a difference for that one person. So keep showing compassion.  God’s ways aren’t ours.

Sing: What a difference you made in my life, what a difference you made in my life.  You restored all the broken parts, what a difference you’ve made in my life.

Thought For Today: “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” (Lamentations 3:22)

 Received With Open Arms

“And he said, A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.”
(Luke 15:11-24)

Today’s Morsel:  The story of the Prodigal Son, is a story that relates how Jesus treats each of us when we make up our minds and come home to Him. The Lord isn’t willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. When the prodigal son decided to return home, he probably was not expecting all the excitement and fan fair that was given to him.  For the father to give him the best robe, new shoes, and a signature ring with authority was probably a little bit much to handle. He had already made up his mind to be a servant like others. Jesus said that the angels in heaven rejoiceth over one sinner that repents. The father saw his son in a different light. This is my son, he said, that was lost and is found. He was dead and is alive again. The son was received by his father with open arms.  The same is true with you.  You can never get too far from Jesus that He will not welcome you home with open arms. Just don’t wait too long.

Sing: He said come unto me, and I will give you rest, take my yoke upon you, come, and be blessed. For my yoke is easy and my burdens are light, come unto me and be filled with delight.

Thought For Today: Home is where the heart is.
