Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. (Psalms 80:14-15)
Today's Morsel: When is the last time you've prayed for a visit from the Lord? The Psalmist prayed for God to look down from heaven, and visit this vine; And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. Do you ever feel as though you aren't as fruitful as you should be? Sometimes our fruitlessness may be caused because we haven't had a good old purging by the Lord. The Bible says, "And he must needs go through Samaria" (John 4:4). There was a vineyard there that Jesus needed to visit. There was a city there that needed to be purged. "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord" (Luke 4:16-19). Every so often, Jesus will visit His vineyard. Have you invited Him to come by and visit yours lately?
Sing: Come by here Lord, come by here. Come by here Lord, come by here. Come by here Lord, come by here, oh Lord, come by here.
Thought for Today: Some visits are planned, others are not.
