In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
Today's Morsel: Across America today, many celebrate "Earth Day". Earth Day is the day designated for fostering appreciation of the earth's environment and awareness of the issues that threaten it. There are many things that threaten the earth today, but none like sin. The greatest threat present with us today is not greenhouse gasses, but sin and evil. Yes, today is a great day to recognize the threats that are coming upon us and do something about it. Yes, I believe we should keep the earth clean and beware of threats, but it will require a return to God's word by all to keep our world clean and safe. When God created the heavens and earth, He made it good. It was so good, that God even used some of the dirt to make man. And then He called it very good. But then sin entered the good that God had made and corrupted it. Since today is earth day, as we go about to clean up the earth, why not take a look inside and see if there are things that you may need to clean up in your life to get you back to that original state of being very good, as that is how God intended you to be from the beginning.
Sing: This is the day, this is the day, that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made. I will rejoice, I will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it. This is the day, that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it, this is the day, this is the day, that the Lord has made.
Thought for Today: The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.
