2012 October 25 - Morning Manna

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: (Hebrews 12:14)
Today's Morsel: One of the ways that I can tell people are starting to grow cold in the Lord and may starting to become a little weary is they will begin to say, "I don't believe that" or "That is your opinion" or "Is it a heaven or hell issue?" When they say is it a heaven or hell issue they are saying, "If it won't keep me out of heaven, then it's okay for me to do. But if it will land me in hell, then I won't do it." Funny how some think, isn't it? Are you aware that many people don't know what is a heaven or hell issue. I have found a few things in scripture that are heaven and hell issues. So let me share them with you:
"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14).
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him"(Hebrews 11:6).
"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15).
"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin" (James 4:17).
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23)
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death"(Revelation 21:8).
So the next time someone asks you if it is a heaven or hell issue, give them Jesus' advise:
"Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it"(Matthew 7:21-27).
Sing: Time is filled with swift transition, naught of earth unmoved can stand; build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God's unchanging hand!
Hold to God's unchanging hand! Hold to God's unchanging hand! Build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God's unchanging hand!
