For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. (Hebrews 9:19-22)
Today's Morsel: What would you say is the number cause of sin? Corrupt leadership? Fornication? Drunkenness? Disobedience? Lying? Cheating? Stealing? Non-repentance? We know that Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sin came upon all mankind. But Jesus paid the price for our sin. So what could be the cause of continual sin? Paul asked the question, "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin"(Romans 6:1-7). He said that if we have repented of our sins and been baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of those sins, then in our lives sin should not be prevalent because we died and buried them, as well as the old man who committed them. Now that we are new creatures and Christ Jesus, sin shall not have dominion over us. Have you been baptized in Jesus name? That is the only saving name there is, because Jesus is the only one whose blood and wash away your sin.
Sing: Would you be free from your burden of sin, there's power in the blood, power in the blood; sin stains are lost in its life give flow, there's wonderful power in the blood.
There is power, power, wonder working power in the blood, of the Lamb; there is power, power, wonder working power in the precious blood of the Lamb.
