And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and feed them. And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well's mouth; then we water the sheep. And while he yet spake with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep: for she kept them. And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother. (Genesis 29:7-10)
Today's Morsel: When we think of a blockages, we think of things that prevent something from being able to flow. In other words, it impedes or hinders the flow. In the church, we see many things that can block the flow of the Spirit. Noise, distractions, bad attitudes, envy, and jealousy are just a few. These things try to hinder the flow of God's Spirit in the church. The Bible says that they couldn't water the flock until the stone was rolled away from the well's mouth.
Wells were dug for waters to flow from them. They would place rocks or stones in front of the mouth to prevent them from continuous running of the water from the well. Wells and water were precious during those times. So my question to you today is this - what stone is blocking your flow? Jesus said that out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:37-39). The living water is the Holy Ghost. So what's blocking God's Spirit from flowing out of you. Is it hurt? Is it sickness? Is it rejection? Is it distress? Just what is blocking your flow. Every child of God is called to go forth and preach the Gospel to every creature. People are looking for the living water the same as the woman at the well in John 4. But if something is blocking your flow, they're never going to drink. Why not roll the stone away and let the living water flow so you can water the thirsty.
Sing: I've got a river of life flowing out of me, it makes the lame to walk and the blind to see, it opens prison doors, set's the captives free. I've got a river of life flowing out of me.
Spring up oh well, within my soul. Spring up oh well, and make me whole. Spring up oh well, and give to me, new life abundantly.
