Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25)
Today's Morsel: Are you ready for the coming of the Lord? What preparations are you making to be ready? Are you applying the Word of God to your heart? Are you living according to God's Word? If we aren't careful, we can spend the majority of our time on ourselves and our careers and miss getting ourselves ready for the coming of the Lord. One of the fallacies of some Christians is that they spend so much time in their secular jobs when they aren't even at work, they become so tired and they don't have time for the things of God. Satan has lured them into his trap. Faith comes by hearing the Word of the Lord, so we must have time for the Word in order for our faith to increase. Satan knows that without faith it is impossible to please God. Most people backslide not because of church disagreements, but because of tiredness. They become weary, exhausted, and fatigued. When a person is tired, they don't see the need for the church as they don't see the church as providing anything for their day to day provisions. Yes, they may understand that the church helps with their salvation, but they don't see it as meeting their day to day wants and desires to live in this world. And so they choose to stay home and rest in hopes of alleviating the tiredness. But they all to soon find out that they are not rested but even more tired than before. And this is because they are now working in their own strength and abilities. I promise you, if you go to church when you are tired, God will give you strength that you never knew you had. Have you let the devil be effective in your life? "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee" (Psalms 84:10-12)
Sing: Better is one day in your courts, better is one day in your house, better is one day in your courts then thousands elsewhere, then thousands elsewhere.
