For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7).
Today's Morsel: Probably one of the most exciting times for married couples is when they have planned for a child and God grants their wish, and that child is born. The psalmist said "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward" (Psalms 127:3). Isaiah prophesied that 'unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.' So to whom was this child born?; to the entire world. This child belongs to everyone. He's very special. He's wonderful. He's great and He's going to do great things for us. He's a counselor, He's going to become a therapist. He's going to be able to diagnosis every area that is wrong in our lives and give us advice on how to get it fixed. He's going to be the mighty God, everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace. He's going to be the one that brings peace into the storm of your life. He's going to be the one that calms the raging seas of doubt, uncertainty, despair and fear in your life. He's the One that spoke the world into existence, who gives life to all, and who saves man from their sin. He's going to be God manifested in flesh, Paul said (1 Timothy 3:16). This glorious child that was given is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. No other description or such wonderful words could have identified Him. What do you call Him?
Sing: Wonderful! Wonderful! Jesus is to me. Counselor, Prince of Peace, Mighty God is He. Saving me, keeping me, from all sin and shame; Wonderful is my Redeemer, praise His name.
