But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Today's Morsel: Can you remember as a kid how excited you were as Christmas approached each year. Do you remember the excitement and joy of just waiting for that day when you would awake and get to open those gifts? When we are anticipating something that is really good, joy often times fills our hearts, and we just can't wait for that special moment to come. That's how it should be with Jesus. Each day, we should anticipate what new things He will bring our way. We know that it's going to happen, as scripture says that He daily loadeth us with benefits. Therefore, our anticipation level should always remain high. We should anticipate the new and refreshing revelation of truth and His Word. The new insight and opening of our understanding to scripture. A new direction based on the Word of God. A new outlook on life. A new and refreshing dose of the Holy Ghost and power. Excitement, day by day. Paul said that we shall not all sleep but we shall be changed (1 Corinthians 15:51). Does that excite you, knowing that someday Jesus is going to call us home? Don't be discouraged my friends, we are going to a better place, so be encouraged.
Sing: There is coming a day when no heartaches shall come, no more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye; all is peace forever more on that happy golden shore, what a day, glorious day that will be.
Chorus: What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see, when I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace; when He takes me by the hand, and leads me through the Promised Land, what a day, glorious day that will be.
