Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said, Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places. Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise? How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight. How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm? (Job 25:1-6)
Today's Morsel: They say that China has the largest army in the world. Before the first Gulf war, Iraq was the fourth largest army in the world. Today they are trying to rebuild into an army. Job asked the shortest man in the world, Bildad the shuhite (he was the shortest man since he was only 'Shoe-height' - My humor!), "Is there any number of God's armies?" After Peter cut off the servant's ear in the garden, Jesus told him to put up his sword saying to him, "Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels"(Matthew 26:53). In ancient Rom, a legion was an army division of 3,000 to 6,000 soldiers, including cavalry. So Jesus said that He could immediately get more than 12 legion of angels if He wanted them. You do the Math! When the servant saw the host of the enemy encamped around the city, he asked Elisha, "What shall we do?" The prophet just prayed, "Lord open his eyes that he may see." And the Lord opened the young man's eyes and he saw: And behold, the mountains were full of horses and chariots of fire around about Elisha 2 Kings 15-18). You can't number God's army, it's too big because every born again believer is to be in His Army. Paul told Timothy, "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier" (2 Timothy 2:3-4). God put you in His army, and now you must not allow things to distract you from what He's chosen you to be and do. I'll see you on the battlefield, fighting for my Lord!
Sing: God's got an army, it's marching through the land, deliverance is their song, there's healing in their hand. With everlasting joy, and gladness in their hearts; well in this Army I've got a part.
