2010 July 15 - Morning Manna

O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD (Psalms 34:9-11).

Today's Morsel: Do you understand what it means to fear the Lord? Do you know how to fear the Lord? The word "fear" used here in scripture, means to reverence God. When one reverences God, he shows deep respect for God. When we understand that God is our Heavenly Father, we should always respect Him. Our places of worship should always be seen as a place of respect. Solomon said, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). When a child is taught how to respect the house of God at an early age, it will remain with him forever. Everyone needs to understand reverence for God's house, and it starts at the earliest age. Paul said, "Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?"(Hebrews 12:9). Paul, also speaking of Jesus, stated, "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:9-11). I think David sums it up best when he says, "O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker" (Psalms 95:6. Are you a continual worshipper of God? If we give respect and honor to man, how much more should we give honor and respect to the Lord Jesus Christ, who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Sing: I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like you! I worship You, O' Prince of Peace, that is what I long to do; I give you praise, for You are my Righteousness. I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like you!
