2010 July 31 - Morning Manna

Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese? (Job 10:10)

Today's Morsel: Here in Wisconsin, one of the big sellers is "Cheese Curds," (fried cheese in small pieces). I'm sure you know that cheese is produced from milk. Job said that the Lord had poured him out as milk and curdled him like cheese. Job felt like he had been separated from the source and turned into something else. He felt like he had been beaten around and turned into curds and whey. He felt sour, bitter, and separated. And his friends did not help the matter any. Maybe you can relate to Job today. Maybe you are going through something in your life that you makes feel as though you are separate from the source, and that Jesus doesn't seem to be anywhere near and others just don't seem to care. But let me encourage you today, even though you may feel as though you've swallowed a bitter pill, Jesus hasn't for gotten you. Always remember that the just must live and walk by faith and God will be right on time.

Sing: Who am I that You are mindful of me. That You hear me, when I call. Is it true that You are thinking of me, how You love me; It's amazing.

CHORUS: I am a friend of God. I am a friend of God. I am a friend of God, He calls me friend. (2X).

God Almighty, Lord of Glory, You have called me friend. I am a friend of God. I am a friend of God, I am a friend of God, He calls me friend. You call me friend.

2010 July 30 - Morning Manna

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish (Psalms 1:1-6).

Today's Morsel: I really love fruit. I don't care what type or kind it is, I love it. There is nothing like a good Golden Delicious apple, or one of those huge Korean pears. Fruit is good for you and should be part of our daily food allowance. I guess my question to you today is, "What kind of fruit are you producing?" Isaiah said, "God hath given us a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that we might be trees of righteousness, the planted of the Lord, that He might be glorified" (Isaiah 61:3). If we have been planted by Jesus, then we should be producing the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23. Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, etc, are the fruit we should be growing and displaying. And not only that, but our leaf should not wither due to the fiery trials of life that come our way. And whatever we do, we shall prosper in it. As Daniel said, "The people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits" (Daniel 11:32). When Jesus cursed the fig tree, it was because it didn't have any fruit on it. The first time he came to the tree, He wanted it cut down because there was nothing on it. He said cut it down, why clumber it the ground. In other words, why let it take up space if it's not producing anything. But the husbandman (farmer), asked that he be allowed a year to dung around it, work with it, and see if it produced, and if not, then cut it down. So the next time Jesus came, it still had nothing on it, and He cursed it and it dried up. If Jesus was to come to you unexpectedly, would He find fruit? David said if you walk not in the counsel of the ungodly, if you don't stand in the way of sinners, and if you don't sit in the seat of the scornful; but allow your delight to be in the law of the LORD; and you meditate in his law day and night; then you will be like a tree that is planted by the rivers of water, and you will bring forth fruit in your season." If you stay in Jesus, you will always produce fruit that is good for the soul.

Sing: I shall not be, I shall not be moved. I shall not be, I shall not be moved; just like a tree, planted by the water, I shall not be moved.

2010 July 29 - Morning Manna

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth (Genesis 1:26).

Today's Morsel: Many people have tried to use Genesis 1:26 to support doctrinal beliefs, and many have turned bitter over the discussion. So what did God mean when He said, "Let us make man in our image?" What is the image of God? God is Holy. God is Just. God is Love. God is Pure. God is Righteous. God is Joy. God is Peace. God is Long-suffering. God is Merciful. The list could go on and on. Adam, was created in God's image. They (Adam and Eve) were pure and innocent in the garden. But when they (Adam and Eve) allowed the spirit of disobedience from Satan to enter their heart (thinking), they went against God's ways and command. Thus destroying the initial image and causing everyone born after them to be born with an Adamic nature. Therefore, in order for us to regain that initial image of God and to remove that Adamic nature, God robed Himself in flesh and came to the earth to redeem us (Galatians 4:4-6;1Timothy 3:16). Paul said that because we bore the image of the earthly (Adam), we must now bear the image of the heavenly (Jesus) which was what God desired in the initial creation of man; to be created in His image.(1Corinthians 15:44-49). The phrase, "You must be born again," means that you must start afresh and anew if you are to possess the image of God and become like God. Do you bear His image?

Sing: To be like Jesus, To be like Jesus, on earth I long to be like Him. All through life's journey, from earth to glory, I only ask, to be like Him.

2010 July 28 - Morning Manna

The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. (Psalms 118:22-23)

Today's Morsel: When told of their need for Jesus, many people reject Him. And so they try to build their own life without Him. As they begin to build, and things seem to be going alright, they continue to think that they can do it without Him. But when things begin to go bad, or turn for the worse in their lives, or they receive a negative doctors report, they realize that they now need Jesus. And so they begin to look for that stone (Jesus) which they rejected. When they find Him, they are quick to allow Him to become the head of their life. The Psalmist said, this is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes. In other words, when we give Jesus His right place in our lives, we will see just how beautiful He can make any situation in our life better. We don't need God to show us how much we need Him. We just need to put Him in His rightful place as the head of our lives. As Jesus said, for without me you can do nothing.

Sing: I'm standing on the Rock of Ages, safe from the storms that rages, I'm standing on that solid Rock!

2010 July 27 - Morning Manna

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes (Psalms 118:8-9).

Today's Morsel: It has been stated that Psalms 118 is the middle chapter of the entire Bible; Psalms 117 is the shortest; and Psalms 119 is the longest. The Bible has 594 chapters before Psalms 118, and 594 chapters after Psalms 118. If you add up all the chapters except Psalms 118 you would come up with the number 1188. 1188 or Psalms 118 verse 8 which is the middle verse in the entire Bible which reads, "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." Where is your trust today? Where is your confidence? David said, "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God" (Psalms 20:7). I pray that your trust is always in God, as He alone can supply all your needs, satisfy your soul, and give you life eternal.

Sing: Trust and obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obey.

2010 July 26 - Morning Manna

On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. (Acts 10:9-15)

Today's Morsel: The Lord's vision to Peter was a vision of His church. The vision was of things which were forbidden by the Jews to eat or partake of. But Jesus was showing Peter that His New Testament Church is and will be made up of all people, nations, kindreds, and tongues. God's church is a diverse church. And it is to be knitted together at every corner and with all people. "For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" Paul said (Colossians 2:1-3). Every person should be afforded the opportunity to hear, be taught, given understanding, and know who Jesus is. Are you doing your part?

Sing: I'm so glad that I'm a part of the family of God. I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His Blood. Joint heirs with Jesus, as we travel this sod; I'm so glad I'm a part of the family of God.

2010 July 24 - Morning Manna

And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother. Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.(Genesis 35:1-3)

Today's Morsel: Do you ever feel distressed and snowed under? Stress isn't anything new, and so you shouldn't feel bad if you have a little stress in your life. Some stresses are good for you. They can help you to see what you are made of. Almost all of the leaders you read about in the Bible faced stress in their lives at some point and time. But they overcame it by maintaining their relationship and focus with the Lord. David was so stress that he said, "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance" (Psalms 42:5). When he returned to Ziglag and everything he owned was taken, he wept bitterly. King Saul was so stressed that he took matters into his own hand to offer sacrifices, commanded the people not to eat anything, and couldn't sleep. Jacob said to the people, "Let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went." He said that God was with him in the day of his distress. And God will be with you, just don't stop worshiping and praising Him when you start feeling a little weighed down and snowed under. He will never leave you. And besides, He is the one that gave you the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

Sing: He gives strength to me, as I worship Him. As my heart, is filled with praise. Jesus breaks the bands, as I raise my hands. He gives glorious victory!

2010 July 23 - Morning Manna

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. (Psalms 37:4-5)

Today's Morsel: The most important single factor in individual success is commitment. To commit is to pledge yourself to a certain purpose or line of conduct. It also means practicing your beliefs consistently. There are, therefore, two fundamental conditions for commitment. The first is having a sound set of beliefs. There is an old saying that goes, "Stand for something or you'll fall for anything." The second is faithful adherence to those beliefs with your behavior. Probably the best description for commitment is "Persistence with a purpose." Commitment always ignites action. David said, if we commit our way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And that even included the desire of our heart. Do you have the stick-to-it-ness?

Sing: All the way with Jesus. All the way to glory. All the way with Jesus, all the way with Him!

2010 July 22 - Morning Manna

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal ,But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:19-21)

Today's Morsel: I have noticed that most home-owners these days are installing detector system in their homes to protect their treasures. Due to so many home break-ins, people want to protect and perserve their valuables. Jesus said, "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Treasures are things that we do not want to part ways with easily. Like good friends, they are few and far between and are very important to us and hard to come by. Jesus said if your treasure is in heaven, then that's where your heart will be. What would you say is the most important treasure you have? What about your life? What about your family? What about your friends? If these things are important to you, then why not trust them to Jesus. His security system is better than any security system you can purchase on the earth and it's free of charge. Then Satan (that old thief) can't steal them from you. You don't want to lose your valuable possessions, just trust them to Jesus and they will be in good hands.

Sing: There's a dream that I dream, of my heavenly, heavenly home, and I know that I'm going there one day, and Oh Lord, It may be morning, night or noon; I don't know just how soon, that's why I'm sending on up my timber every, every, every day.

2010 July 21 - Morning Manna

Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling? (Job 7:1)

Today's Morsel: I heard a lady say that the first thing she reads in the newspaper is the obituary to ensure that her name isn't there? Job said that there is an appointed time to man upon the earth. Moses said, "For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away" (Psalms 90:9-10). He said if we live to be 70 or 80, our lives will soon expire and we fly away. Are you ready to spend eternity with Jesus? Are you ready for your glorious crown? Are you ready to hear those words, "Well done, good and faithful servant? What story will be told of your life when you are gone? Friend, there is a city where there comes no night, because Jesus is the light. There is a place Jesus is preparing for you. So why not submit your life to Him that you may dwell in the city where the Lamb is the Light.

Sing: I'll fly away O' glory, I'll fly away; when I die hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away.

2010 July 20 - Morning Manna

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:35)

Today's Morsel: Did you know that people need loving the most when they deserve it least? God has made us that we need love and that we should share love. Because God is love, and we are created in His image, and the fruit of the Spirit is love, love should be in all of our lives. And we should be willing to share it freely with others. If we only give people love when we think that they deserve it, we will never know what a difference it could have made during other times. Love really isn't spelled, L-O-V-E, it is spelled T-I-M-E. So when we spend time with those we say that we care about and for, it can really make a difference. Jesus said that by our love all men would know that we are His disciples. Can others tell who you belong to?

SING: Not because I've been so faithful, not because I've been so good; you've always been there for me, to provide my every need. You were there when I was lonely, you were there in all my pain, guiding my footsteps, sheltered me from rain. And it was You, who made my life complete. You are to me, my everything, and that is why I sing.

CHORUS: Jesus I love you, because You care. I couldn't imagine if You weren't there. Jesus, I love you, because You care. I couldn't imagine, if You weren't there. I love You.

2010 July 19 - Morning Manna

Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (2 Corinthians 11:1-4)

Today's Morsel: Here is a quote from news commentator Paul Harvey before his death. He said (and I quote),

"If I were the Devil -
I would gain control of the most powerful nation in the world;
I would delude their minds into thinking that they had come from man's effort, instead of God's blessings;
I would promote an attitude of loving things and using people, instead of the other way around;
I would dupe entire states into relying on gambling for their state revenue;
I would convince people that character is not an issue when it comes to leadership;
I would make it legal to take the life of unborn babies;
I would make it socially acceptable to take one's own life, and invent machines to make it convenient;
I would cheapen human life as much as possible so that the life of animals is valued more than human beings;
I would take God out of the schools, where even the mention of His name was grounds for a lawsuit;
I would come up with drugs that sedate the mind and target the young, and I would get sports heroes to advertise them;
I would get control of the media, so that every night I could pollute the minds of every family member for my agenda;
I would attack the family, the backbone of any nation. I would make divorce acceptable and easy, even fashionable. If the family crumbles, so does the nation;
I would compel people to express their most depraved fantasies on canvas and movies screens, and I would call it art;
I would convince the world that people are born homosexuals, and that their lifestyles should be accepted and marveled;
I would convince the people that right and wrong are determined by a few who call themselves authorities and refer to their agendas as politically correct;
I would persuade people that the church is irrelevant and out of date, the Bible is for the naive:
I would dull the minds of Christians, and make them believe that prayer is not important, and that faithfulness and obedience are optional;
I GUESS I WOULD LEAVE THINGS PRETTY MUCH THE WAY THEY ARE!

Sing: Living below in this old sinful world, hardly a comfort can afford; striving alone to face temptation sore, where could I go but to the Lord?

Where could I go, O where could I go; seeking a refuge for my soul? Needing a friend to help me in the end, where could I go but to the Lord?

2010 July 17 - Morning Manna

But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth" (Psalms 86:15)

Today's Morsel: A few days ago, I was standing in line behind a lady and her daughter at the checkout counter at the store. The young daughter had talked her mom into letting her purchase a toy animal, with the indication that the daughter had enough money to pay for it at checkout. When the register rang up the price and included the taxes, the young girl found that she was a dollar and ten cents short of what she needed. The mom told her she would have to put it back because she hadn't brought enough money in the store to pay for it and she wasn't going to the car to get more to pay for it. As I was about ready to tell the cashier that I would pay for it, he pulled out his wallet and told the young girl, "Don't worry about it, I'll take care of it for you." That's compassion. That's mercy. That's being gracious. I think that at one time or another many of us have found ourselves short at the checkout and someone helped us. I know I have, and that is why I'm quick to reciprocate for others. One day we are going to come to the "checkout counter", and Jesus will be at the register. Will you have enough to pay for your debt, or will you need mercy and compassion from Him? If you think you may come up short, why not begin now by having compassion and mercy on others. We always reap what we sow.

Sing: To be like Jesus! To be like Jesus! On earth I long, to be like Him. All through life's journey, from earth to glory, I only ask to be like Him.

2010 July 16 - Morning Manna

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
(1 Timothy 1:12-17)

Today's Morsel: If you had to give a number for the sins you have done and been forgiven for, how many would you say that God has forgiven you of? I don't think that we realize how good and compassionate God is to us. God loves us even though we may not fully realize the depth of His great love. He's not willing that any should perish, Peter said. The apostle Paul gives us a picture of just how good God is. Paul said that he was the chief of sinners. That means that he was the number one sinner. Chief is the head, and Paul said that Jesus came into the world to save such as himself (Paul). Paul said that not only did God save him, but He put him into the ministry. Why would God take the chiefest of sinners and use them to spread the gospel? Because those who know that they were sinners and understand what God has saved them from, are apt to tell others what God has done for them. A true witness knows what God has done for him. The ways of a transgressor is hard and when God delivers one from that life style, he knows that he truly has been made free.

Sing: I know I'm saved, and I'm so glad about. I've found the joy my spirit craved. It is so real that I could never doubt it, Oh praise the Lord I'm glad to know I'm saved.

2010 July 15 - Morning Manna

O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD (Psalms 34:9-11).

Today's Morsel: Do you understand what it means to fear the Lord? Do you know how to fear the Lord? The word "fear" used here in scripture, means to reverence God. When one reverences God, he shows deep respect for God. When we understand that God is our Heavenly Father, we should always respect Him. Our places of worship should always be seen as a place of respect. Solomon said, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). When a child is taught how to respect the house of God at an early age, it will remain with him forever. Everyone needs to understand reverence for God's house, and it starts at the earliest age. Paul said, "Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?"(Hebrews 12:9). Paul, also speaking of Jesus, stated, "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:9-11). I think David sums it up best when he says, "O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker" (Psalms 95:6. Are you a continual worshipper of God? If we give respect and honor to man, how much more should we give honor and respect to the Lord Jesus Christ, who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Sing: I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like you! I worship You, O' Prince of Peace, that is what I long to do; I give you praise, for You are my Righteousness. I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like you!

2010 July 14 - Morning Manna

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe
(Proverbs 18:10).

Today's Morsel: If someone were to ask you what your name means, could you tell them? Do you know why your parents chose the name they gave you? Just what is in a name? Solomon said, "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold" (Proverbs 22:1). I have asked people to tell me who they were, and you would be surprised at the number of people who do not know who they are. I'm not asking for some theological in-depth discussion from them, I just want to know who they are. Solomon said that the name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. The apostle Paul said that it takes the Holy Ghost to understand that Jesus is Lord (1Corinthians 12:3). Do you know Him? The name "Jesus" means Jehovah Saviour, the God that saves. Isaiah said, "Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength"(Isaiah 26:4). He also said, "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation"(Isaiah 12:2). The apostle Peter, speaking to the council after the lame man was healed said, "If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved"(Acts 4:9-12). When you know Jesus, you understand that He is our refuge and our strength, our God in whom we must trust. He's our deliverer, our protector, and our fortress. Inside of the man Jesus is everything that man needs. But you have to go inside of Him to get it.

Sing: The name of the Lord is,a strong tower, the righteous run int o it, and they are safe! The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run in to it, and they are safe! Blessed be the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord, most high,. Blessed be the name of the Lord; Blessed be the name of the Lord; Blessed be the name of the Lord, most high.

2010 July 13 - Morning Manna

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever"(Psalms 23:1-6)

Today's Morsel: David said that the Lord was his Shepherd. The Apostle Paul said, "Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost" (1 Corinthians 12:3). Jesus Himself said, "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep" (John 10:11). When we understand that Jesus is the same Shepherd that David spoke of, we understand that we His sheep are fed in green pastures, that our souls are restored day by day, and that He anoints our heads with oil (the Holy Ghost) to keep Satan, who he called Beelzebub (the god of the flies) from disturbing us. When we allow the True Shepherd to lead us, and care for us, we won't have to worry about wandering to another pastor (my wording). Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine" (John 10:14). Do you know the Shepherd? Do you know His voice?

Sing: He speaks, and the sound of His voice, Is so sweet the birds hush their singing, and the melody, that He gave to me, within my heart, is ringing.

Chorus: And He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me, I am His own; And the joy we share, as we tarry there, none other, has ever known.

2010 July 12 - Morning Manna

The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel; To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:1-7).

Today's Morsel: I love talking with children. It seems that children today are some of the smartest people you can talk with. I just love listening to some of their conversations. Most kids just don't take what you say for granted, they always want to know "WHY?" Jesus said, "Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 18:3). In order to have an understanding, you have to ask "Why". Solomon said that the Proverbs are so that we would know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; and to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity. I read a chapter of Proverbs every day. And I can only say that I wished I had started reading it at an earlier age in my life. I can truly say that by reading it, I have obtained wisdom, instruction, and understanding. I have learned when to speak and when to be quiet. I have learned how to treat others. I have learned how to just be a listening ear. I have learned how to lead more effective. I have learned how to be a brother to my brethren, and a better father to my chilren. Not only have I learned these things, but I've learned from the Word of God why I should do them. Solomon also tell us, "Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding" (Proverbs 9:9-10). The Proverbs are instructions for ever believer and the more we study them and apply them, the more we become like Christ. James said, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" (James 1:5). Solomon's first request of the Lord was, "Give me an understanding heart (wisdom) that I may lead your people," and it was given to him.

Sing: Show me Your ways, that I may walk with You. Show me Your ways, I put my hope in You.

Chorus: The cry of my heart is to love You more, to live with the touch of Your hand; stronger each day, show me Your ways.

20`0 July 10 - Morning Manna

And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz  (2 Chronicles 3:17).

Today's Morsel: When King Solomon was constructing the temple of God, he placed in two pillars, one of the pillars, Jachin, which meant 'God will establish,' and the other, Boaz, which meant, strength. As Christians we are not to be weak but strong. When we are born again, God has established us with His power (Acts1:8, Luke 10:19). God is our strength forever. We are to be established in righteousness and true holiness, as these are trademarks of the One True God. Righteousness and holiness are strength. Solomon, writing of the virtuous woman, said, "Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come"(Proverbs 31:25). How you dress shows if you are weak or strong. A woman of strength is always clothed in modesty. Solomon, speaking of the man, also said, "A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength"(Proverbs 24:5). When a man gets wisdom, knowledge, and understanding he is strong and his countenance reflects it. As the temple of God, we are to be established in strength. The joy of the Lord is our strength.

Sing: He gives strength to me, as I worship Him, as my heart is filled with praise. Jesus breaks the bands as I raise my hands, He gives glorious victory.

2010 July 9 - Morning Manna

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Today's Morsel: A burglar broke into a house one night. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables, and when he picked up a CD player to place in his pack, a strange, disembodied voice echoed from the dark saying, "Jesus is watching you." He nearly jumped out of his skin. He clicked his flashlight out, and froze. When he heard nothing more after a bit, he shook his head, promised himself a vacation after the next big score, then clicked the flashlight on and began searching for more valuables. Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard, "Jesus is watching you." Freaked out, he shined his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot. "Did you say that?" he hissed at the parrot. "Yep," the parrot confessed, then squawked, "I'm just trying to warn you." The burglar relaxed. "Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?" "Moses," replied the bird. "Moses?" the burglar laughed. "What kind of people would name a bird Moses?" "The kind of people that would name a Rottweiller Jesus."

The Bible says that the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. God is watching you. There is nothing hidden from Him. He's the all seeing eye. This should not be seen as fear, but as a comfort, knowing that if our heart is right toward Him, He will protect us from any hurt, harm or danger. Jesus only has your best interest at heart. So put your trust in Him.

Sing: Why should I feel discouraged? And why should the shadows come? Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home? When Jesus is my portion, a constant friend is He, His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

I sing because I'm happy. I sing because I'm free. His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches over me.

2010 July 7 - Morning Manna

Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house (Proverbs 6:30-31).

Today's Morsel: Because there is so much stealing in the world these days, many home owners are now installing detection systems to deter criminals from entering their homes and stealing their possessions. Jesus said of Satan, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). Jesus called Satan a thief, and He said that he came to steal, to kill, and destroy. When a thief breaks into your home, he comes for one purpose, to steal the things you have. And if you get in his way, trying to prevent him, he may kill you. He will also destroy other things in your home looking for the one thing that he came for. Satan enters your home to steal your family from you, and he will kill you and them if you aren't careful. Satan will destroy everything you have worked to build and establish. Solomon said, "Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house." Have you caught that old thief in your home? If you have, you need to make him pay you sevenfold.

Sing: Well, I'm going to the enemy's camp, I'm gonna, take back what he stole from me. I'm going to the enemy's camp, to declare my victory. I'll put him under my feet, under my feet, under my feet, he's under my feet, Satan is under my feet.

2010 July 6 - Morning Manna

The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly (Proverbs 20:27).

Today's Morsel: When we look at light, we have come a very long way. But people today still use candles to set an ambiance in their homes and churches. Solomon said that the spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly. Our spirit should cause us to continually search ourselves to see if we are walking in truth, as a candle lights our way. When we have the Spirit of Christ in us (Romans 8:9), we have Christ in us, the light of the world (John 8:12), and there should be no darkness in us. Light always repells darkness. David said the Lord desires truth in the inward parts. God wants us to walk in truth. When we have truth and walk in truth, our ways are bright and pure. Remember, you are a direct reflection of Christ.

Sing: Lord I lift my spirit, to your Spirit, in holy sweet communion. I sense your holy presence, as I draw nearer; Lord I lift, my spirit to You!

2010 July 5 - Morning Manna

And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel. And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished. And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped. Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped (2 Chronicles 29:27-30).

Today's Morsel: King Hezekiah seems to be one of the only kings of Israel that did right. Hezekiah seems to have been a worshipper of the Lord. If you will notice, Hezekiah was a leader who lead from the front. He was not in the back worshipping, but he was leading the way. He even instructed the Levites as to what songs to sing. He told them to sing the Psalms. When you sing the Psalms, they glorify God. The Psalms are worship songs. If you say, "Come let us worship the Lord in song," then the songs you sing must be songs that speak about God and glorify God. Worship songs aren't over-powering with a lot of loud instruments, but are with instruments that enhance the words or even sung acapella. They glorify God and draw you into a deeper relationship with Him, and they allow you to open your heart to Him . When we come together at church, we should begin our service with worship, and we when prepare to depart, we should depart with praise.

Sing: I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like You, I worship You, O Prince of Peace, that is what I long to do. I give You praise, for You are my Righteousness. I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like You.

2010 July 3 - Morning Manna

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:32-36)

Today's Morsel: On July 4, 1776, America, claimed her independence from Britain and democracy was born. Every day thousands leave their homeland to come to the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave" so they can begin living the American Dream. The United States is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. Each year on July 4, Americans celebrate that freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings.

Someone said, "Freedom isn't free." It cost someone their life. Jesus said that He came to deliver the captivates. Only through Jesus can we be made free. Many people are still held captive by their sins and are servants to sin. Paul said, "And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will" (2 Timothy 2:24-26). In Christ Jesus, we can all be made free. And if Jesus has made you free, then you are to be free indeed. Are you free? If so, then daily celebrate your freedom. The Church is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. It is the land of the free and the home of the brave. As Peter said, "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy" (1 Peter 2:9-10). Before our freedom, we were not a people of God, but when Jesus made us free, we obtained new citizenship.

Sing: He set me free, yes, He set me free. He broke the bonds of prison for me. I'm glory bound my Jesus to see. Glory to God, He set me free.

2010 July 2 - Morning Manna

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness (Proverbs 2:10-13)

Today's Morsel: Because the Spirit of God gives us wisdom, when we are filled with the Holy Ghost, the same Spirit directs us and keeps us. God is a righteous God, and therefore, we as His children should know how to do what is right. James said, "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin" (James 4:17). Doing right is the opposite of doing wrong. If you continue to do wrong after you have been shown how to do right, you are no longer a child of God, but a child of the devil (1 John 3:10). Solomon said that once wisdom enters into your mind, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; he said that discretion, (carefulness, maturity, tact, diplomacy, and caution) shall preserve you, and understanding shall keep you." Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding" (Proverbs 4:5-7). What is the most important thing to you?

Sing: He leadeth me! He leadeth me! By His own hand He leadeth me; His faithful follower I would be, for by His hand He leadeth m

2010 July 1 - Morning Manna

Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts (Psalms 119:173).

Today's Morsel: Often, we find that when working on certain projects, we may need a helping hand. There is nothing like two working together. When we offer someone a hand, it maked their weight and burden less heavy and the burden lighter. The Psalmist said, "Let thine hand help me." Jesus is always willing to lend us a hand. He said, "Ask, and it shall be given thee." When Peter began to sink, he cried out, Lord, save me, and immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him (Matthew 14:30-31). Sometimes, it may seem that we are sinking in the things that we have to do, but if we will set our pride aside and ask others to help us, we may not feel so snowed under. It is better to allow others to share in the glory and reward when we are doing a project, then to kill ourselves trying to do it all alone for our own glory. Isaiah said of the Lord, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" (Isaiah 41:10). God will help you. Could you use a hand today? Then why not ask someone to assist you, you just may be surprised what happens. You could even be making a new friend or learning more about your neighbor. "The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion" (Psalms 20:1-2).

Sing: Hold to God's unchanging hand. Hold to God's unchanging hand. Build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God's unchanging hand!
