Protecting The Foundation
“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalms 11:3)
Today’ Morsel: One of the most essential things of any building is its foundation. Whatever goes into the foundation will determine if the building stands or fall over time, leak or sway, crack or deteriorate. When we become Christians, how we build our lives must be based on the instructions from the Master builder. Our foundation must be carefully considered because it represents Christ Himself. Therefore, all doctrines, truth, and holiness must be based on the instructions found in the blueprint (The Bible) and built upon this foundation. Paul tells us, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11) Our lives must be built upon the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our faith in Him must be unmovable. There is no other foundation which can withstand what we will face and endure in life. Satan knows that if he can destroy the foundation of the Word of God, when it comes to marriage, gender identity, doctrine, and everything we face in life, he knows that he can destroy us. This is why these things are now under strong attack. Satan’s strategy isn’t so much about destroying the church as it is about destroying the foundation upon which the church is built upon. If he can cause a crack or break in the foundation, he knows that other things will also be destroyed in the process, because if the building’s foundation is not repaired and does not remain solid, the building will soon fall. Even the things we have always believed to be true are now under attack. “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.” (Luke 14:28-30) Make sure that you have the things you need when you begin to build, and be careful how you build and what you are building on. Build on the solid truth of God’s word.
Sing: When you see me praying, I’m working on the building, I’m going up to heaven, to get my reward. Well, I never get tired, working on the building, I’m going up to heaven to get my reward.
