Warning Signs

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-12)

Today’s Morsel: Do not enter! Drive and text later! High Voltage, Don’t Touch! Caution Wet Floor! Warning signs are given to help keep us safe. If we follow them, we are often kept safe. But when we refuse to heed the warning, we may cause ourselves and others harm. Paul, writing to the church at Corinth, gave them warning so that they would not lose their eternal reward. He warns them that unrighteous could not inherit the kingdom of God. Neither could fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, could inherit the kingdom of God.  These warning signs now flow to each of us.  Throughout scripture there are many warnings signs which God gives us to keep us safe. We are warned not to worship idols. We are warned to not serve other gods. We are warned to keep God first in all that we do.Paul again cautions us, “For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them.” (Ephesians 5:5-7) We must heed the warnings, or we could very well lose our soul.

Sing: I’ll say yes, Lord yes, to Your will and to Your way. I’ll say yes, Lord, yes, I will trust You an obey. When Your Spirit speaks to me, with my whole heart I’ll agree, and my answer will be yes, Lord yes!
