Unity
“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” (1 Corinthians 1:10)
Today’s Morsel: Having and
maintaining unity in the body of Christ is essential to mission
accomplishment. Many churches and businesses are trying to meet their
vision and goals, but they keep falling short because there is no unity in the
body. There is too much individuality in the body. Those who should be
the hands want to be the mouth. And those who should be the mouth want to
be the feet. And then there are those who do not want to be anything but
complainers and murmurers. Satan has the body divided. If the
church is going to accomplish its mission, there must be unity within its
ranks. Every believer must do unto others as they would have others do
unto themselves. A house divided against itself cannot stand.
Sing: Bind us
together, Lord, bind us together with cords that cannot be broken. Bind us
together, Lord, bind us together with Lord, bind us together with love.
Thought For Today: “And above all these things put on charity, which is
the bond of perfectness.” (Colossians
3:14)
