2015 June 15 - Morning Manna

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)

Today's Morsel:  Mahatma Gandhi said that one of the "Seven Deadly Sins" was "Knowledge with Character."  I am becoming very concerned with the number of people who are supposed to be the smartest because of their educational levels and degrees, yet they seem to be those regarded as having or showing a low level of intelligence. Somewhere our education system is failing people.  And those who are supposed to be educated are allowing it to happen. Our schools and governmental agencies  are fighting over "Common Core" but not "Common Character."  As the old saying goes, "Education without character makes one an educated fool."  Gandhi sure knew what he was talking about.  So many have rejected God's Word, which gives us knowledge, wisdom, instructions, and understanding, all of which produce character.  They have rejected it for money which takes wings and flies away.  When nations fall, it is because they've lost their character.  God will fight for any nation who has character at its core.  You don't develop character in the heat of battle or in circumstances and crisis.  Character is built by how you live your life on a daily basis based on the Word of God.  Friend, I don't care how much you know, character still counts and God will judge us in the end based on our character that has been built on the foundation of His Word.

Sing:  If you could see where Jesus brought me from, to where I am today; then you would know the reason why I love Him so, now you can take the world's wealth and riches I don't need earth's fame; it's my desire, to live for Him.

Thought for Today: When nations fall, it is because they've lost their character.
