The Majority
“And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth,
behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his
servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he answered, Fear
not: for they that be with us are more than they that be
with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that
he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and,
behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about
Elisha.”
(2 Kings 6:15-17)
Today’s Morsel: One of the
things that we learn through scripture is that there are more that are with us
than that are with those who are against us. Sometimes we may think that
the majority is right. But God’s ways are not our ways, and nor are His
thoughts the same as our thoughts. Moses says “For their rock is not as our Rock… (Deuteronomy 32:31); If one can put a thousand to flight two can put ten
thousand to flight (Deuteronomy 32:30). God plus one (you) is always a
majority and God is always right. So, “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can
be against us?”
(Romans 8:31) Stick with God and you
are always on the winning side.
Sing: All hail the power
of Jesus' name let angels prostrate fall. Bring forth the royal diadem
and crown Him Lord of all. Bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of
all.
Thought For Today: God plus one
(you) is always a majority!
