Killing Fear
“There is no fear in
love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that
feareth is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18)
Today’s Morsel: A definition
for fear is that it is False Evidence Appearing Real.
The thing with fear is it can make things seem bigger than they really
are. John said that fear torments. Fear can plague you and put you
in a state of depression, misery, and sadness if you do not defeat it.
The reason many folks fear is that they do not witness their faith with
others. If Christians would follow Peter’s advice, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to
give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is
in you with meekness and fear…” (1 Peter 3:15)
they would overcome
fear. So, how do we kill fear? Again, John said that there is no
fear in love. Because God is love, we must allow Him to retain His
rightful place in our life. The stronger our love in Christ is, the
weaker our fear of others and of situations will be. Face the things you
fear and the death of fear is certain.
Sing: Fill my way every day with love;
as I walk with the heavenly dove. Let me go all the while with a song and
a smile. Fill my way every day with love.
Thought For Today: Face the
things you fear and the death of fear is certain.
