The Promise to the
Tither’s
“For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not
consumed. Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine
ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you,
saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? Will a man rob
God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes
and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this
whole nation. Bring ye all
the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove
me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of
heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to
receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not
destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit
before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall
call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.” (Malachi 3:6-12)
Today’s Morsel: One of the
things that I have come to realize is that God cannot lie when it comes to His
word and promises. When God called Gideon to deliver Israel from the
Midianites, Gideon wanted to know where all the promises were that God had made
to them. God never answers Him; He just tells him to go. God had
not changed; they were not doing what God had required of them to receive His
promises and therefore the promises were being withheld from them. The
Lord said through the prophet Malachi, “Bring ye all
the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove
me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of
heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room
enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and
he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast
her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all
nations shall call you blessed” Are you a
tither? Notice the promise that God gives to those who tithe. If
you feel that God has withheld His promises from you then ask yourself "Am
I tither?" Do not allow money to rob you of God’s promises and
blessings. A Christian who does not tithe is keeping the lid on God’s
promise box.
Sing: Lord I give
you my heart, I give you my soul, I live for You alone. Every moment I’m
awake, every breath that I take, Lord have your way in me.
