Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 18 February 2021

Christian Diamonds

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
(James 1:2-4)

Today’s Morsel:  A diamond is a chunk of coal that is made good under pressure.  James tells us to consider it all joy when we encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of our faith produces endurance.  When we are going through things in our lives, such as trials and tests, we should ask ourselves if God is molding us into something beautiful or strengthening our faith. A diamond must endure pressure in order to become a precious gem, and so must we.  In order for Christ's beauty to be seen in us, we must learn how to endure the pressures of life and stand strong. “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.” Paul said (1 Corinthians 16:13)  Anytime you are reproached for the name of Christ you should rejoice.  And anytime you are going through trials and test, endure it and know that you will shine as a precious gem when you pass the test.

Sing:  He’s changing me, my blessed Savior, I’m not the same person that I use to be.  Well, it’s been slow going, but there’s a knowing that someday perfect I will be.

Thought For Today: A diamond is a chunk of coal that is made good under pressure.

  1. Amen on the slow going. Sometimes I think the wheels fell off but somehow found reverse. 😬
