Be Like The Tree
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But
his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and
night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that
bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psalms 1:1-3)
Today’s Morsel: You know, I
like to visit places that have huge trees. I think trees express God in
so many ways. One of the things I’ve learned from trees is there are many
uses and representations of Christ. Jeremiah informs us, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the
LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that
spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but
her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought,
neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8) Why not become like a tree today.
Stay grounded. Connect with your roots. Turn over a new leaf. Bend
before you break. Enjoy your God-given beauty. And keep growing.
Sing: On a hill far away stood
an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame. And I love that
old cross where the dearest and best; For a world of lost sinners was slain.
So, I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at
last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it someday
for a crown.
Thought For Today: To be like Jesus you
must stay in the vine.
Thank you for your thoughtful efforts for Gods glory and kingdom that you put forth.
