Who Told You?
“And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was
naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast
thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the
tree, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that
thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.” (Genesis 3:9-13)
Today’s Morsel: Often, when
someone tells us something that someone said, our response is often, “Who told
you?” I think we may do this to check the reliability of where it is
coming from. For the past four years, all we have heard in the news is
that everything about the president that is being reported by the media is
‘fake news’. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden by eating the
forbidden fruit, they hid because they were naked. And when God called
Adam, Adam told God he hid because he was naked. Interesting. They
had always been naked, but they were not aware that they were naked until they
violated God’s command. God’s reply to him was, "Who told you you
were naked?" God wanted to know his source as He had not said they
were naked. You see, sin will expose who you really are. If you
violate God’s commands, you will surely know it. Just as Moses told the
children of Israel, be sure your sin will find you out. Who told you you
are no good and not valuable to God? Who told you that you cannot be what
God says you can be? Who told you that you need a bunch of makeup and
jewelry to make you pretty? Who told you that you must have tattoos and
body art to be normal? Who told you that you must dye your hair all
different colors to disguise your age? Check your source. Remember, it is
not what others say about you that counts. It is what God says
that matters.
Sing: Jesus love me this I know, for the
Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong, they are weak, but He is
strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus
loves me, for the Bible tells me so.
Thought For Today: Remember, it is not
what others say about you that counts. But what God says that matters.
Needed this today. Started new position at new job and certainly need the lord God almighty as this is a very skilled position. All prayers are welcomed.
