Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 29 October 2020

He Leadeth Me

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.(Psalms 23:1-6)

Today’s Morsel: Who are you following?  Who is leading you?  So many are following people that they have no clue about.  They don't know who they are nor what they stand for.  Scripture says that you should not follow a multitude to do evil.  David said that the Lord leads him in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  In the plain paths of truth and holiness.  Christ is not about to lead us wrong.  Sometimes the path may seem crooked, rough, rugged, and hard to walk on, but rest assured that if Jesus is leading and you are following Him you can endure.  Habakkuk states, The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.” (Habakkuk 3:19)  Scripture also says, “And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.” (Exodus 13:21-22) The pillar of the cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night are still leading us.  It is called the Holy Ghost.  As Jesus said, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth.” (John 16:13)  Who is leading you?

Sing:  He leadeth me!  He leadeth me!  By His own hand He leadeth me.  His faithful follower I will be.  For by His hand he leadeth me.

Thought For Today:  Know who you are following.
