Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 15 August 2020

Loose Lips

“For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.” (Ecclesiastes 5:3)

Today’s Morsel:  There is a saying that there are two kinds of people who do not say much, those who are quiet and those who talk a lot.  Solomon said that a fool is known by the multitude of his words.  Therefore, we are cautioned not to be like him.  James even tells us that our tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!  And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. (James 3:5-6)  If life and death are in the power of our tongue, then shouldn't we learn when to speak and when to keep silent?  Do not allow your loose lips to sink your ship.

Sing:  Jesus keep me near the cross, be my glory ever.  Till my raptured soul shall find, rest beyond the river.

Thought For Today:  “They say that there are two kinds of people who do not say much, those who are quiet and those who talk a lot.”
