And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:1-4)
Today's Morsel: Pentecost, or the Feast of Weeks, was 50 days after the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. As the Lord told Moses, "Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD" (Leviticus 23:16). It was one of those days that was required by God for all of the men of Israel to join themselves in Jerusalem for this feast. Jesus had told His disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high (Acts 1:4-8). And Luke records, "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2:1-4). Have you experienced your own personal Pentecost? Do you ever have one of those time that you just don't know what you are hungry for? It could be your soul crying out for a drink of some living water. Allow the Lord to quench the thirst of your soul with the refreshing of His Spirit today.
Sing: The wind is blowing again. The wind is blowing again. Just like the day of Pentecost, the wind is blowing again.
Thought for Today: God is still pouring out His Spirit.
