Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. (Luke 6:38)
Today's Morsel: During Christmas, we enjoy volunteering to ring bells for the Salvation Army. I like seeing the expression on the people faces when they give. There is a joy about them when they are putting their change or bills in the kettle. There is something about giving that gives us joy. If we could grasp this in the church, we too would see that we are happier when we give. I think this may be why Paul instructed us to bring an offering when we come to church because there is joy when we give. When you tighten your purse strings, you withhold the blessings of God from your life, because the law of sowing and reaping is always in effect. Jesus said, "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." If you give to others, watch and see don't others give back to you. It just works that way.
Sing: You can't beat God's giving, no matter how you try. For just as sure, as you are giving, the Lord is the giver on high. The more you give the more He gives to you, so keep on giving because His word is true, you can't beat God's giving, no matter how you try.
