2014 February 12 - Morning Manna

A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.  (Psalms 27:1-6)

Today's Morsel:  If you could have your heart's desire, what would it be?  If you could have your wish, what would be the first thing you would ask for?  The psalmist said, "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple."  Why did he want the house of God?  Most people would have asked for health, riches, or wealth.  Solomon asked for wisdom and he got the wealth and riches to go along with it.  When the things of God are sought after with a broken and contrite heart, God will give us all the other things that may be in our heart that we want even though we don't need them.  Notice what Jesus said, "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:31-33). Paul informs us, "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost" (Romans 14:17).  What is your number one desire?  Seek ye first the kingdom God.

Sing:  If you could see where Jesus brought me from, and where I am today; you would know the reason why I love Him so, now you can take this world's wealth and riches, I don't need earth's fame; it's my desire, to live for Him.
