Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

(John 8:12)
Today's Morsel: During the Christmas season, we heard about the wise men following the star to Bethlehem to find the Savior of the world. Jesus told Nicodemus, "Here is condemnation, that light is coming into the world, but men love darkness rather than light because their deed were evil" (John 3:17-24). John tells us, "In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not"(John 1:4-5). If we have the life, we will have the light, and be a city set upon a hill that cannot be hidden. If we are lights on a hill that can't be hidden, then we should be seen. If we are seen, then we should shining. If we are shining, we should be bright. If we are bright, we should be glowing. If we are glowing, we should be radiating. If we are radiating, we should be sending forth light. All because there is no darkness in us. "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light" (1 Peter 2:9). "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" (1 John 1:5-7). If we follow Jesus, there is no occasion of stumbling because the Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our pathway.
Sing: This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine; this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
